Martin Smith, Ph.D.
Background
Martin Smith is Vice
President for Research and Development of the
Stractics Group, Inc., a management consulting
firm dedicated to helping clients achieve measurable
performance improvements. He has extensive experience
in quality improvement, human resources development,
training and process improvement. He has consulted
nationally and internationally with clients in
Energy, Telecommunications, Education, Food Products,
Insurance, Banking, and Electronics industries
on process improvement and job design.
Publishing credits
Dr. Smith has over
50 publishing credits to his name, including chapter
contributions to the Handbook on Human Performance
Technology, Competency-based Performance Improvement
and the Training and Development Handbook.
He has also chaired the editorial committee that
published the Introduction to Performance Technology
for the International Society for Performance
Improvement, and he recently completed a six-year
term as Consulting Editor for the Performance
Improvement Quarterly.
Speaking engagements
Dr. Smith has spoken
before a number of professional associations,
including the American Psychological Association,
the American Educational Research Association,
the International Society for Performance Improvement,
the European Organization for Quality, and the
American Society for Quality, just to name a few.
Educational background
Dr. Smith received
his Ph.D. in the field of Industrial Psychology
from Purdue University.
