Design
the Most Cost-Effective Instructional Solutions
How
should training be designed to achieve the instructional
objectives in the most efficient way possible?
CEP drafts skill hierarchies
to determine how all of the skills to be incorporated
in the training program are related to each other. In
other words, which skills need to learned first before
more complex skills are introduced? This skill hierarchy
is then used to design a "blueprint" that
depicts how skills and knowledge will be combined into
modules, and the sequence in which employees will progress
through training.
The Benefits of Our
Approach
|
|
Ensures
that learners have the necessary prerequisite and
subordinate skills before they complete each module
of instruction |
|
|
Establishes
the exact number of modules needed to fulfill the
instructional objectives |
|
|
Eliminates
any potential duplication of skills being learned

Example
CEP worked with a leading paper products manufacturer
to develop training for a new payroll system. CEP's
consultants developed the following course map for HR
Records Maintenance. This course map begins at the bottom
with the basic skill of navigating through the system.
Once this skill has been mastered, employees progress
to more complex skills. Modules FE and PA contain skills
that can be learned in any order.
