Criterion-Referenced Instruction
Dr. Robert F. Mager & Peter Pipe, Fourth Edition

The Criterion-Referenced Instruction (CRI) workshop is a hands-on, revolutionary learning experience that will give you skills you'll use for a lifetime. It teaches you a thorough, systematic, and proven method for conducting analysis and designing training that's guaranteed to give your trainees the skills to do their jobs successfully. It breaks the process of instructional design into a step-by-step process you can follow to get guaranteed results every time.

In CRI, you learn by doing. Working on material from your own work environment, you'll learn to:

  • conduct in-depth analysis (including goal, performance and task analyses)
  • quickly solve performance problems,
  • decide if training is really the answer,
  • recommend less costly ways to improve performance,
  • edit and derive clear and measurable objectives,
  • draft effective procedural guides, skill checks, course scenarios and course maps,
  • plan course evaluations, and
  • quickly evaluate existing materials and plan course improvements

And much more! You'll practice every skill of the workshop until you are both fully competent and confident in your abilities. You receive individualized feedback from our expert course managers every step of the way and leave with skills you can apply immediately upon return to your job.

Plus, you'll put together an Action Plan for implementing your newly learned skills back on the job, and you'll produce analyses, procedural guides, objectives, skill checks, course scenarios, course procedures and evaluation plans prepared for a course you're developing.

Who Should Attend: CRI is appropriate for anyone involved in training and performance improvement, including analysts, instructors, designers, developers, performance improvement specialists, and their supervisors.
